Your Experience in Birth Starts with your Pineal Gland

The pineal gland is tiny but mighty. It is located deep in the center of your brain and is intrinsically connected to your womb.

The condition of your pineal gland determines
how you take in life. It moderates one’s mood and experiences. This is one reason why two people can have the exact same experience but they perceive it extremely different.

A woman is laughing in a field of flowers.

Calcification builds up on the pineal gland with age but also from aluminum, fluoride, EMF, and 5G (it is highly recommended to unplug your wifi at night).  It is rare for people to not have some sort of calcification. The pineal gland creates melatonin, mainly at night, in the absence of light (it is recommended to have a completely dark bedroom without any artificial light). Melatonin dictates our sleep patterns. Melatonin is a powerful antioxidant that supports the immune system and contributes to feelings of well-being and happiness, and even feelings of ecstasy.

In yogic traditions the pineal gland is referred to as the
seat of our soul, where all thoughts are formed. A clear, vibrant pineal gland helps us to see truth; truth within ourselves, truth in the people around us, and truth in the world because it takes you out of your thinking brain and brings you true wisdom.  The wisdom we carry in our cells and souls; not our brain wisdom.

This allows us to fully trust, connect to our intuition, and have clear discernment.

How does the pineal gland relate to labor and birth?

Birth starts in our head and goes down the body.  Our thoughts and mental stamina affect our labor and birth experience and outcome. With a calcified pineal gland you are unable to recognize your divinity, you feel disempowered, you are blocking the energy of our higher intuitive self. It can create irrational fears and keep you in a state of disconnection and separation.

A clear pineal gland allows information from your higher self and God to come through. Deep spiritual truths are attained, releasing the fear of our own shadow. It allows you to overcome the ego that controls the majority of our decisions.

There can be some difficult decisions to make during pregnancy, and during the labor and birth phase but the decision making don’t stop here. With parenthood come challenging decisions, a healthy pineal gland leaves you empowered to have clear discernment to make decisions that are for you and your child’s best interest. It helps you to
get out of your overthinking brain and to trust what the Divine is showing you and to live through your heart.

Other things you can do to clear and support your pineal gland:

  • Spend time in the sun every day. Morning sun is ideal
  • Sleep in complete darkness
  • Reduce blue light exposure  (wear blue light blocking glasses)
  • Meditate daily
  • Do yoga (forward folds and inversion help blood flow to the pineal gland)
  • Deep Diaphragmatic Breath- longer exhalation than inhalation (called Calm Breath in Hypnobirthing and used between contraction/surges during labor)
  • Apply pressure to the roof of your mouth with your tongue while meditating or doing breathwork
  • Exercise daily- walking outside is incredible
  • Candle gazing (see 7 Minute Breath work for the Pineal Gland below)
  • Sensory deprivation such as floating in a float tank
  • Eat or drink raw cacao
  • Take 5000- 15,000 IU of Vitamin D daily
  • Drink fresh carrot juice
  • Eat beets and drink beet juice
  • Take 600 mcg of Vitamin K2 (MK-7)
  • Reduce or eliminate refined sugar, flour, seed oils and other harmful vegetable oils
  • Heal leaky gut
  • Consume foods high in iodine such as seaweed, spinach and broccoli.  Adding a chunk of kombu seaweed to homemade soups and dried beans when cooking is an easy way to get iodine and other minerals

7 Minute Breath Exercise for the Pineal Gland

(Liana Shanti- Illuminations)

Sit comfortable in a seated position. Place a lit candle before you at a distance where you can gaze at the flame with an upright head and neck.

Press the tongue to the roof of the mouth to stimulate the pineal gland. Set the intention to remove calcification from the pineal gland and awaken to deeper spiritual truths. Visualize it bright, vibrant and clear.

Gaze intensely until your eyes water a bit and then let your eyelids almost close. Continue this for 7 minutes while your breath is a very long slow inhale and very long slow exhale.
